I’ve been lucky enough to be a two-time Foyles Young Poet (2022, 2023). I am also a member of the National Youth Theatre.

I am inspired by the intricacies of everyday conversation and the small joys of nature and music. I am also jasmine tea fiend and keen movie enthusiast. I love collecting trinkets, seashells and fossils.

Georgia-mae Tan’s Quilted is a graceful patchwork of ruminations. These twenty poems examine the cross-roads of cultural identity, ambiguity of memory, and the bittersweet nuances of love and loss as personal desires contend with obligation in a distinctive and defiant celebration of girlhood.
Negotiating the future at the intersection of past and present, these poems are born in bold worlds that chart ever-changing textures, shapes and sounds as they shift across natural and domestic landscapes.
Immersed in the intimacies of playful first conversations, the warmth and comfort of a home-cooked meal or vignettes of a sleepy town, Quilted explores the abundant possibilities of light and growth in the spaces we inhabit.
